Apr 10/01 This is 'Toby' - he is a 1 yro (DOB Apr1/00), brindle neutered male with very short cropped ears (they didn't receive any support after
cropping but with massage they may stand up) and docked tail. He is utd on all shots and is microchipped. Toby is absolutely wonderful!! He is a typical rambunctious, outgoing baby
bouv. Toby will need some leash work and lots of room to run to wear off some of his energy. He is non-dominant with other dogs and somewhat exuberant with small dogs. For further info pls

May13/01 After many applications and serious consideration, Toby's 'forever' home was found in Grand Forks, BC. The only flight going that way had a
long stop-over and plane change in Calgary. I just wasn't comfortable flying a very large, young dog unaccompanied so it was decided that a friend and I would make a 'rescue run' out west to deliver Toby and
Zipper to their new families (and so I could see the mountains). After five days on the road (Zip met his new mom in Airdrie on the 12th) we met up with Colin and Donna at Lake Louise. They had
driven up from Grand Forks BC to Radium Hot Springs AB the night before so they could meet us. It was raining and the lake was still frozen but we all still went for a walk around the lake and Colin
and Donna got familiar with their new 'boy'. They decided that they would make the long trip home without a stopover so they could get Toby settled. I received the below email from Colin - sounds like
all is going well. It was a long trip, but very satisfying - two wonderful dogs got perfect 'forever' homes.... Toby traveled well on the way home. (I hope that you did too!)
Spent Monday with us at home as we'd taken the day off work. Tues, Wed., Thurs.; coming to work with me. Wed. after work, we had a Vet appt., check-up, worming and blood test for heartworm. He's 88.7 lb or
44 kg, and as we knew; in excellent health. Today, received the result of the blood work, & he is clear to start heartworm medication June 1st. (When we start it, in Southern Interior of B.C.) Toby has
bonded really well. He is mischievous with the "can't catch me game & running circles and figure eights" at times. I don't expect otherwise. Learning about our cat is going to be the biggest
challenge. So far after a few chases, inside & out; we're just keeping them separated. I'm sure that we'll work that out.The rain at Lake Louise kind of dampened the flow, -so to speak. I sure hope
that your back was OK for the trip home. Toby is eating well, 2 cups morning and night, he is good at drinking water, both in quantity and with front feet-in, when drinking in the large dog water sink
outside. His stools are regular as clockwork, I think that he is feeling good. On Saturday afternoon, Toby and I have a private lesson with Robin McLean, our local trainer. Then we start group lessons May
31st. Toby is a wonderful dog. I owe you big time.... Thanks, & bye for now. I'd love to hear from you if you have time. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Colin Haffey |
